At La Cerdanya Aerodrome (Girona), the Aeroclub mainly carries out its gliding and microlight flight activities.
La Cerdanya Airfield

The Aeroclub Cerdanya has been developing gliding activities since 1999 and microlight flying activities since 2012 at La Cerdanya Aerodrome. This valley stands out for its exceptional geographical, climatic, and historical conditions, making it a unique environment for sport aviation. With one of the largest valleys in Europe, an average altitude of around 1,000 metres, and approximately 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, La Cerdanya is an ideal location for the practice of any form of sport flying, especially gliding.

Today, La Cerdanya Aerodrome is a benchmark in both Spain and Europe for gliding pilots, and it also welcomes practitioners of other aviation disciplines such as powered flight and microlight aviation. Flight activities take place throughout the year, allowing both national and international pilots to visit at any time of the year.

The main objective of Aeroclub Cerdanya is to promote sport aviation activities with the utmost respect for the natural and landscape environment. For this reason, gliding is its core activity, while microlight and powered flight are considered secondary activities.

Gliding section pilots participate in competitions at national, European, and world level across the different categories of this discipline. To support this, the club operates a fleet consisting of three tow planes (Rallye Socata) and six gliders (Grob Twin Astir, Grob Twin Astir II Acro, ASW 15, Grob 102 Astir Jeans, Duo Discus, and DG300), enabling full development of gliding operations.

The section also organises local and national championships, encouraging pilots to maintain a high level of proficiency. All activities take place at La Cerdanya Aerodrome, which offers a friendly and family-oriented environment, with a restaurant, swimming pool, children’s play area, and spectacular views of the Cerdanya Valley. This setting enhances the practice of gliding and ensures leisure and enjoyment for accompanying guests and families.
